Description
This French Riviera Motorcycle Tour is a guided day ride through the Southern Alps, covering some of Europe’s most renowned motorcycle routes. Between the Mediterranean coast and alpine peaks, riders experience alpine passes, dramatic gorges, hilltop villages, and panoramic viewpoints.
Using your own motorcycle, you explore backcountry roads featuring winding mountain routes and iconic passes popular among global riders. The itinerary adapts by season, weather, and departure location, and may include highlights such as:
- Col de la Bonette, one of Europe’s highest paved roads
- Col de Turini, famous from the Monte Carlo Rally
- Verdon Gorge, known as the Grand Canyon of Provence
- Lavender fields of Provence
- Scenic hilltop villages around Nice and Grasse
The tour balances engaging riding with scenic stops to enjoy the landscapes and local culture. Riders cover 150 to 300 km depending on route and group preferences. Group sizes remain small for a safe, personable experience.
Day Itinerary
The day starts at 8:45 AM from a mutually agreed departure point (Nice, Grasse/Cannes, or Fréjus/Saint-Raphaël, based on motorcycle rental location). After a briefing on the route and safety, the ride begins on notable roads through the French Riviera and Southern Alps.
Mornings focus on mountain roads, mountain passes, and viewpoints. Planned stops allow for photos and visits to authentic Provençal villages. Depending on season, a local specialty or Provençal surprise may be included. The afternoon continues on scenic roads before returning to the starting point.
