Description
We will meet at Place Massena, the heart of Nice, before setting off to explore the alleys of Old Nice. As we walk, I will tell you about the history of the city, as well as its mysteries, legends, popular beliefs, and the hidden symbols that adorn its facades, giving you the keys to the city. We will also discuss some fascinating characters, forgotten stories, local superstitions, and the traditions of Nice that have spanned the centuries. This tour will also be an opportunity to talk about one of the most impressive celestial phenomena: the solar eclipse. Since ancient times, eclipses have aroused fascination and concern. They were interpreted as divine messages, omens, signs of change, or even moments when the boundaries between heaven and Earth seemed to blur. We will discover how different civilizations explained this phenomenon and what beliefs were associated with it. We will then leisurely make our way to the Castle Hill, the most beautiful vantage point in Nice, to admire the eclipse with a panoramic view of the Baie des Anges, the historic old town, the harbor, and the mountains. ISO 12312-2 certified observation glasses will be provided to each participant to safely observe the Sun. During the observation, I will explain the course of the eclipse, the different phases of the phenomenon, as well as some scientific facts accessible to everyone. This experience combines history, heritage, traditions, astronomy, and exceptional panoramic views. This is a unique opportunity to discover Nice in a different way while experiencing a rare astronomical event, in a friendly atmosphere and in a small group.Includes
